Let me introduce myself briefly …:
Stephanie, passionista and “Hamburger Deern” with camera(s), at home in Schleswig-Holstein for love.
My photographic journey:
I got my first camera for my birthday – I was 8 or 9 – a Kodak compact. Then a Canon T80 when I was 18. The challenge back then was not to make the development of the photos more expensive than the holiday ;). I made the switch to the digital world in 2001, when I started again with something small and compact. A Ricoh Caplio. This was followed by bridge cameras from Lumix and Fuji – until the first DSLR from Nikon moved in with me. Today I’m happy with everything from Fuji to Sony to Olympus – and I rarely travel with just one camera. Oh – and of course with my iPhone 😎. It’s always with me. I’ve been taking “proper” photos, i.e. manually and in raw, since 2018. My darkroom is called Lightroom … And – I’m still a long way from taking (and developing) my best picture.
My photographic philosophy:
I don’t have a favorite genre, nor have I settled on THE one style. My photos are driven by moods and emotions. I am convinced that photos are influenced by our experiences, preferences, but above all by the people and things we love. Because THAT influences WHAT we see and HOW we see it. And this is how we continue to develop … throughout our lives. I discover my happiness (almost) daily through the viewfinder of a camera. Sometimes in the everyday or in the small and nitty-gritty. Then again in special moments or in meaningful places. Happiness is (often) also a conscious decision. For me, happiness is not a question of the glass being half full or empty – for me, happiness is having a glass (… and being able to photograph it).
First photographic successes:
Various acceptances in DVF* competitions, including the North German Championship (*DVF = German Association for Photography)
Medal at the DVF Nord-Ostsee-Meisterschaft / theme: black and white

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.

Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.
