Howdy
My name is Arne, I am from Schleswig-Holstein and a coastal child through and through.
My photographic journey:
I bought my first real camera, an analogue Nikon F301, at the end of the 1980s. I was in my early 20s at the time and just about to discover my creativity. My passion for photography fell asleep during my studies and had to be rekindled at the end of the 1990s. My Nikon remained faithful to me, however, and despite technical developments such as autofocus, I saw no reason to change. Then in the 2000s, partly due to the birth of my children, I switched to digital photography. Initially I tried out compact cameras from Nikon, Canon, and Samsung, then the first mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses appeared on the market with the Samsung NX10. I was practically an “early adopter” of mirrorless technology. After upgrading to the Samsung NX 1, the reference model in this segment at the time, I ended up with my Sony Alpha 7 III in 2021. The start of the coronavirus pandemic also led me to “proper” image editing with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. My workflow now includes software from different manufacturers, but my learning process is far from complete. At Blende8 we learn together and from each other … I think there’s still a lot to learn.
My photographic philosophy:
For me, photography is a way of capturing moments and preserving memories. Every photo I take tells a story and allows me to portray the world from my own perspective. I use the camera to express my creative impulses and capture the beauty of the world around me. When I take photos, I want them to have meaning for me personally. I want to remember the moment I took the photo and revel in how I saw the world in that moment. I encourage everyone to be creative in their own way and to express their own voice through art. Photography gives me the opportunity to find and express my own voice, and that is an incredibly valuable and fulfilling experience for me.

Look and think before you open the shutter. Heart and mind are the true lens of the camera.

All photographs are correct. None of them are the truth.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
