Iris
Hi there
My name is Iris, and this text offers an insight into my photographic journey and my photographic philosophy.
My Photographic Journey:
My first attempts were made with a compact camera, which led me to take a closer interest in photography and to further develop my skills with a Canon SLR.
And as life goes, children come along—and they naturally become the subjects in front of the camera. When a compact digital camera was added and images could be slightly edited on the computer, the desire emerged to move into this field with a digital SLR as well.
In the years that followed, I attended workshops on various topics, such as architecture, tabletop photography, and image editing with Lightroom at Freiraum in Glückstadt. They also organize photographic trips, which allowed my enjoyment of travel and my passion for photography to come together in a particularly meaningful way. The joy of photography has been further strengthened by the Masterclass course I have been attending since 2023 with Dr. Micha Pawlitzki—so much so that I now never leave the house without a camera. True to the saying: “The best camera is the one you have with you—but you do need to have one.”
My Photographic Philosophy:
My photography moves between abstraction, minimalism, and experimentation. I am fascinated by the camera’s ability to go beyond the obvious and to reveal structures, forms, and moods of light in new ways. What particularly appeals to me is experimenting with different techniques and exploring unconventional perspectives.
